RESERVATIONS: All
reservations for resorts situated in Namibian Nature Reserves and National Parks
should be done through the Central Reservations Office in Windhoek. The office
is situated in the
Kaiserliche Landesvermessung Building on the corner of John
Meinert and Moltke streets, diagonally
opposite the Kudu Statue in Independence
Avenue (main street of central business district)
Applications should include:
ID or Passport number, full address with home and office telephone and fax
numbers;
Type of accommodation required;
Date of arrival and departure;
Number of adults and number of and age of children.
Camping and caravan sites: This must be arranged and reserved in advance.
Alterations will be
accepted up to 10 days before the first day of occupancy.
Occupation only after 12h00 on day of arrival
and must be vacated by 10h00 on
departure date.
Park Entrance Fees and Permits: In addition to accommodation fees, park
entrance and
usage fees determined by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism
are payable on arrival at
the resort concerned. Proof of reservation and receipt
must be produced on arrival at resorts.
Shops at resorts: They sell essential foodstuff, including fresh meat, bread,
butter, eggs, beer and wine.
Bring along: Cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery, flashlight, mosquito
repellent or net, water
container when staying in tent, sun-protection lotion,
lip-ice, sunglasses, hat, bathing and other clothes.
Motorcycles: These are not allowed in any National Park or Resort !!
Pets: Pets are not allowed in any resort - kennels available at entrance gates
of: Ai-Ais, Hardap,
Daan Viljoen, Von Bach and Gross Barmen. Owner responsible
for food and water to pets.
Namibian Adult Citizens: Eligible to a 50% discount on park fees and as
overnight visitors to a
25% discount on accommodation and camping fees when
presenting their Namibian Passports.
Pensioners: Namibian citizens over 60 years are entitled to a further 10%
discount on accommodation.
Proof of status has to be provided when making
reservations as well as at the resort.
